I was so excited a few weeks ago when I got asked by Stackem Coaching to be their new poker training feature student!
I’m doing weekly poker training with Jon Hemmer and Jaymes Rosenthal. They’re both really good coaches, are funny and bring a good dynamic to the trainings. Jon is a little more straight laced and analytical and Jaymes comes off a little more as a wild card so the sessions tend to get interesting because they don’t always agree on the exact way to play hands but it’s very entertaining and really good to get both opinions on some plays.
These trainings couldn’t have come at a better time for me with the World Series of Poker right around the corner. I’m only into my 2nd week and have already learned a lot. You can listen to the first part of my first session in the video below and download the rest of the session for free at StackEmCoaching.com. Sign up for an account if you want to follow the rest of my training for the next couple months.
In this session we discuss the 3 most important things to winning at poker:
1) Playing position
2) Taking Initiative
3) Having the best hand
We also discuss the importance of table selection, seat selection, hand selection and the pros and cons to being a woman in a predominantly man’s game.
